If there is anything I am very susceptible for, it is collectible books. There is absolutely no marketing campaign that has a stronger effect on me than a row of matching books with a remarkable design. Make it a collectible series of some of my favourite authors with good translations and I will gladly give you every penny I own. So it won’t come as a surprise that I own quite some books that belong to different series, although I have never managed to complete a series to be honest. There is just so much out there, I get a little distracted from time to time, haha. 

But imagine my joy, my enthusiasm and also the fear for my bank account, when the publishing house Vintage announced a new collection of classics, with a new design, in a stunning quarterbound coat. The first 9 books were released in October 2023 and the next books will be released in April and May of this year, 2024, that is. So for those who don’t know, which is very much understandable, a quarterbound is a book bound with two different materials. The material used for the spine and parts of the cover is usually a better/stronger quality material than the rest of the book, to strengthen the spine.
