Reading Challenge: Read Christie 2024

Every year, the amazing ‘Agatha Christie Limited’ host a reading challenge, with (surprise) books written by Christie. Although I have read numerous novels by Christie, this is the first time I’m joining the challenge. Unfortunately, I’ve missed the first four months, but luckily you can just drop in and out whenever it suits you. After all, reading should be fun and not an obligation.

The idea is that you read one book per month, which is published in the corresponding time period. At the Agatha Christie website, you can find which books they chose for each month, including some alternatives.

If you sign up for the newsletter, you will receive the official postcard with the different time periods and an area on the back, where you can write down the titles you have read for each month.

What I love about this challenge, is that they encourage you to post a photo with your pick of the month and the postcard on social media with the hashtag #readchristie2024. This way, you can easily connect with other participants and even have a chance of being featured by the Official Agatha Christie accounts.

In general, the whole challenge is very accessible and engaging. Love it!

This year's offical picks for the read christie 2024 challenge!

This year’s choices for the challenge, contain some very good titles, although it is hard to pick a “wrong” one with Christie. If you are looking for an alternative, you can always check which book is published in which time period of course, but you can also head over to the Agatha Christie website for inspiration.

January 2024: The Mysterious Affair at Styles

February 2024: The Secret Adversary

March 2024: The Mystery of the Blue Train

April 2024: The Murder at the Vicarage

May 2024: The ABC Murders

June 2024: And Then There Were None

July 2024: Taken at the Flood

August 2024: A Murder is Announced

September 2024: Ordeal by Innocence

October 2024: The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side

November 2024: Third Girl

December 2024: Elephants can Remember

And when you decided on which book you’re going to read (one of the above or another one), you can write it down on the back of your postcard. After you’ve read it, you can even join their online book club to discuss the book!

If you’re doing to the Read Christie 2024 Challenge too and want to connect, just head over to my Instagram page, where I’ll also be sharing my thoughts on the books every month. You can of course also send me an email or leave a comment!

Remember to stay salty!
